What better time to reflect than at a milestone? As NewGal reaches TWENTY-FIVE years, let’s take a moment to look back on where we came from, and who we have become. Musicians include marimbist/composer STEPH DAVIS, bassist MAX RIDLEY, percussionist AARON TRANT, violinist GABRIELA DIAZ,

composers DANIEL BERNARD ROUMAIN, ARVO PÄRT, ALVIN SINGLETON,

and LEI LIANG with a Boston premiere. Program also includes  music by composer, friend, and one of NewGal's original NewGal advisors, LEE HYLA, arranged and performed by pianist SARAH BOB.

Tonight’s REFLECT is an opportunity for us to celebrate NewGal’s beinnings, pay tribute to a man who did so much for us personally and the world of music at large, and celebrate the New Gallery Concert Series’s continuation in moving forward.

My artistic journey is a continuous exploration of deconstruction and reconstruction, where collage, assemblage, and painting converge to articulate my reflections on blackness. This process of breaking down materials and reassembling them is not just a method but a metaphor for my dialogue with identity, culture, and perception…
